Valves – ASTM A182 & A351

Grade 304 is one of the most commercially viable and cost-effective stainless steel grades. The corrosion resistance of this alloy is adequate and the metal itself is very versatile. Considered to be one of the most durable and resilient components, the Stainless Steel 304 Ball Valve exhibits a noteworthy performance, despite repeated use. The reliability is such that even if the valve were not operational for extended periods of time, the functionality is still highly rated. Though the preference for an ASTM A182 F304 Ball Valve is much higher to that of a globe or a glass type, their deficiency of precise control in applications that require throttling is a setback. On the other hand, the 304 SS Check Valve, or as also known as a one-way valve is a component that permits the flow of media in a uni-directional manner.

Ideally, the use of a SS 304 Low-Pressure Diaphragm Valve is well suited for both corrosive and for abrasive applications, as this alloy is resistant to corrosion from mild acids and alkalies while exhibiting superior mechanical properties. This specification covers heat-treated Stainless Steel 304 Instrumentation Valves, which are either rapidly cooled or quenched in water.
